Pierre Ferrand: Diverse, Quality Spirits

Hailing from a family of winemakers in Burgundy, Alexandre Gabriel eventually settled in the Charente and decided to make a different wine for himself, one that would be destined to be transformed into one of the greatest spirits in the world: Cognac. Maison Pierre Ferrand is one of the few remaining independently owned Cognac producers, and the brandies in their range run the full spectrum of styles, focusing on XO quality with stocks ranging from 10 to 70 years in age with special reserves of historic single vintages as well. Being the restless creative spirit that he is, Alexandre soon set his sights on other categories, eventually reviving historical benchmarks for spirits as diverse in scope as gin (Citadelle, Citadelle Reserve), rum (Plantation), liqueurs (Dry Curaçao), and beyond. His persistence and dedication to authenticity have led to numerous award-winning collaborations with drinks historian David Wondrich, which have yielded spirits that change the way we think about cocktails and the way we drink them, like the Dry Curaçao, the 1840 Cognac, and the highly anticipated Stiggins Fancy Pineapple Rum (just released in New York). Amazingly, it is probably safe to say that Ferrand is better known today for the extraordinary rums that they blend and bottle than even their Cognacs. Tasting any one of our selection of exclusive single-cask bottlings from Guadeloupe, Belize, or Panama will make it clear why. Rarely can one producer provide such a diverse range of spirits at this high of a level of quality and, as a result, we’ve come to expect only the best and most innovative selection from Ferrand. Trust us; you won’t be let down.
