The wine is named after the single parcel of vines, Clos des Allées and is fact exclusively in the Luneau-Papin family making it their monopole. Luneau-Papin are also still amongst the only producers making single vineyard expressions of Muscadet.

In Muscadet, like in Burgundy, winemakers must share the majority of the vineyards. It is often difficult to have complete control of the farming, as a neighbor’s bad practices can blow onto your vines. Here’s a wine that comes from a monopole (single-owner) vineyard called Clos des Allées that is worked solely by Marie Luneau-Chartier and Pierre-Marie Luneau. Their farming is certified biodynamic, which helps to produce happy and healthy Melon de Bourgogne vines. You can taste it in the wine. Here you have a wine loaded with creamy texture and a sense of salinity. You’ll find flavors of sun-dried straw, green apples. There is an undeniable Umami component that makes it a great food wine.

The coolest (temperature-wise) of the Loire Valley appellations, this region is most famous for its bracingly dry, seafood-friendly whites. Made from the Melon de Bourgogne grape (virtually unheard of in the rest of the world), these refreshing wines are idyllic partners for oysters or mussels.
