The waves of ethereal pleasure that come from German Rieslings are not to be understated; always precise with their acidity, bearing rich, refined fruit and mineral characteristics that would satisfy the white wine loving hedonist. From the Pfalz region, Müller-Catoir presents itself as thoughtful and meticulous. Hand-harvesting all their fruit, slow fermentation and patient with cellaring and bottling to present the best of each season. In the words of Terry Theise, German wine authority: “This wine’s sweetness is a shadow, weaving in and out so sneakily, tactfully.” In my opinion, he hit the nail on the head with this analogy. White peach, nectarine, wet slate, orange blossoms and white flora softly clamor on the taste buds with a lovely blissful kiss for a finish.
