Delivering everything you want and expect from a high quality rye and more, the Lot No. 40 Canadian Rye from Ontario is simply excellent. After developing some buzz and notoriety in the 1990s and early 00s, it was actually discontinued to the dismay of its early fans. It was thankfully re-released in 2012 by Pernod-Ricard, and tastebuds across North America are once again able to indulge in its greatness. The mashbill is 90% rye and 10% malted rye, so its a spicy customer. Clove, pepper and cinnamon please the nose, while the palate is replete with caramel, spiced brown sugar and dried vanilla. Delicious and assertive, this is not your average rye, so pick up a bottle of this and be satisfied.
