This is the first espadin based mezcal from this great distiller and at less than half the price of his wild agave mezcales it is sure to fly off the shelf. One of the best values out there. Notes on this full bodied beauty include ripe table grapes, cooked tropical fruits, pine wood, sweet herbs and gentle smoke.

Like most Mezcal brands, Nuestra Soledad bottles the work of various Oaxacan Mezcaleros from various villages. All of their bottlings are from the Espadin Maguey so prices are within reach. Lachigui is a tiny settlement at 7414 feet elevation whose difficult growing conditions help produce some intense and complex Mezcals. It is where master mezcalero Pedro Vasquez practices his craft. There are so many different tasting notes that you will find in a whiff and a sniff of the spirit. Cucumber, chiles, cheese, apples, papaya, mineral, dill, and rubber cement were all flavors and aromas that I found in my glass. I’m sure you’ll find a few others of your own. All of this is delivered with great concentration and intensity.
