Montebuono, Barbacarlo

Montebuono, Barbacarlo - 2018

Item # 35747 750mL

A wild, tannic red from Lombardy in northern Italy. This winery name comes from the very hill in which it was named after, Barbacarlo, and is a reference to the dialect word "barba" which means "uncle" which was given to the winery when Uncle Carlo first made this blend generations ago. This is a blend of the local grapes Croatina, Uva Rara and Ughetta. A new winery we are seeing stateside and they're clearly making wines in the good old fashion way of emphasizing the character of the grapes.
