Staff Pick Notes

Guy like me, I love a reason to spend time with friends. I also love to pair something nice to drink with any meal I have. NY strip, lobster roll, Little Caesars pizza - a beverage is being PAIRED. So with that said, if I'm kicking it fancy with some type of beef cut, or watching the Knicks crush in the Eastern Conference Finals with a pizza - a beverage is on deck with the fellas. Now, this is where the Sangiovese Toscana comes into play. Sangiovese is a brilliant Italian grape varietal and with age it gets even better. The phrase 'ages like fine wine' was said with Sangiovese in mind. What makes this Sangiovese Toscana so incredible is its versatility. For under $10, you get something that tastes great and pairs with most anything. Did I say this was under $10? Put this in a decanter and serve it a little chilled - you won't regret it.

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano shows the softer side of the grape, containing up to 20% of other varieties. Young Chianti often smells of fresh fruit and herbs, while Chianti Classico Riserva can be dark and brooding. The term “Super Tuscans”...
