The Dio Fili Estate makes this fantastic Xinomavro. The palate is dry, with an abundance of red and dark-berried fruits, and potent tannins and mineral on the finish. Quite lively, and clearly a wine that you could age for several years. As this wine opens up it takes on Nebbiolo-like qualities.
Pronounced "ksee NO ma vro", this is one of Greece’s most important red varietals. The primary grape of Naoussa, this grape produces wines of extraordinary depth and complexity. Frequently likened to Nebbiolo, these wines are dark and tannic in their youth, and benefit immensely from ageing. Typical aromas are black olive, cooking spices, earth, and black fruit.
