Barolo "Brunate Le Coste," Giuseppe Rinaldi - 1999

Item # 27891 750mL

The Brunate cru is one of the most famous in the Barolo region and has been celebrated even as early as the 1300s. Giuseppe Rinaldi's Brunate le Coste expresses the elegance of La Morra to perfection. Maturation took place in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by additional aging in bottle. Rinaldi's Barolos always display imposing character, power and strength. This is a beautifully classic style to excite the nose with marvelous spice, tobacco, tar and rose scents. Keep in the cellar 10 or more years or decant and delight with a fine meal of white truffle, fresh pasta and decadent cream sauce.

Staff Pick Notes

This wine is a savant. Though in its youth, it is precise, focused, refined, full of character, and fairly boastful, but in a sophisticated way. You can't help but find yourself nodding with every statement. It's kinda like the love child of a Nobel laureate and a super model. While it is brimming with charm, this wine will only become more alluring as it matures. This is a serious wine that is certainly capable of significant maturation, so while rewarding now it will only get better with time.
