Barolo "Bussia", Giacomo Fenocchio - 2019

Item # 28967 750mL

Claudio Fenocchio runs the Giacomo Fenocchio estate. His Bussia vines are mostly over 40 years old and come from a small parcel located in the heart of the classic Bussia zone. After several months of skin maceration started with natural yeasts, the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak casks. This comes from a warm vintage that was brilliantly handled by the estate and as a result shows a classic elegance one would expect from this site. This will age marvelously as it comes from limestone rich soils giving more minerality.

Staff Pick Notes

Everyone loves Barolo! It is intense, bold it can age for decades and the best of them are nuanced and earthy. Far too often popularity demands high premiums so it’s a treat to discover wines such as this! A fantastic, classic, single vineyard Barolo, earthy and supple with finely polished tannins. This wine offers a stellar value and most importantly a stellar glass of wine!
