While Mendoza remains synonymous with Malbec, there is certainly more to explore. One of the best places to do this is the sub-region of Valle de Uco, located on the eastern border in the foothills of the snow capped Andes. In this rugged, higher altitude terrain you'll find Tempranillo, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon and many others. The mix of these hand harvested grapes along with the signature Malbec comprise the blend in this rich, full red. An excellent balance of fruit, tannin and acidity, look for dark plum, black olive, bitter cacao, spice and dusty earth. Yes, there is a lot going on here. In other words, a great argument for complexity in Argentine wines.
