Rosé Granit Sparkling, Méthode Traditionelle, Franck Besson - NV

Item # 30548 750mL

A sparkling rosé wine from Beaujolais made entirely from the Gamay grape variety. Since this is not the traditional way to ferment Gamay, you won't see the Beaujolais name on the bottle, but you'll find all the characteristics of Beaujolais that we can't get enough of: great acidity, lively red fruits, and all-around deliciousness.

Staff Pick Notes

Bubbles keep us smiling and laughing, so it makes me wonder why people don't drink them all the time. Bubbles also turn any event into a party, any time of the year. This is one my absolute summer favorites, Rosé Granit Sparkling from Franck Besson. This organically grown, salmon-colored wine from hand-harvested grapes is planted in pink granite in the village of Julienas in Beaujolais. However, it is made in the Méthode Traditionelle (same as Champagne), so you'll never see Beaujolais on the bottle. A lovely wine with aromas of robust strawberry and raspberry notes that aren't over-assertive. A refined mousse adds an understated elegance and lively acidity with a citrusy, dry finish that brings balance and character.

Burgundy

The range of wine styles offered in Burgundy rivals that of any other region. In Chablis, Chardonnay is left unoaked to produce lean, crisp, steely wines with incredible acidity - a far cry from the vanilla-oak bombs that so many consumers associate with this grape. Fans of rich, unctuous, and well-oaked Chardonnay will enjoy Chassagne-Montrachet, whose age-worthy offerings offer all the fatness of a California wine, yet retain a very Burgundian, mineral-driven core and great acidity....

Beaujolais

Beaujolais is the classic expression of the Gamay grape. These red wines (labeled simply “Beaujolais”) are approachable, grapey, and fun – ideal for low-pressure sipping. Beaujolais-Villages is a step up. Compared to basic Beaujolais, the rules for Beaujolais-Villages wines are more strict. Villages wine is produced in far smaller quantities. Beaujolais Nouveau is perhaps the most gulpable wine made anywhere, and it should be drunk very soon after its release, which occurs each year on the...
