Frappato is native to Sicily and is most commonly seen as a major component in Cerasuolo di Vittoria, the only DOCG from the island, where it's blended with Nero d'Avola. With more body and more alcohol (minimum 13% ABV required for DOCG classification), Cerasuolo di Vittoria is a great wine for the table, but sometimes you just want a wine to drink on your sofa, watching reruns of 30 Rock and snacking on salami while waiting for Spring to finally get here so you can drink wine on a rooftop, looking at 30 Rock. Enter Arianna Occhipinti's Frappato. This wine is juicy with fine tannin and vibrant acidity, bursting with raspberries, cherries and rose petals. It's an ideal wine to transition from Winter into Spring, light enough for the warm days, but rich enough for the cool ones.
