Staff Pick Notes

This is a delicious aromatic wine start your evening with. Not entirely dry, but also not a sweet gewurztraminer, it has a nice stony mineral background and a beautifully bright golden yellow color. The nose is floral but not overly perfumed, and the palette is round and rich with notes of lychee and canteloupe. The finish is satisfying with very nice length. The Tiefenbrunner winery has been part of its namesake's family for five generations, located halfway between Trento and Bolzano in South Tyrol, where Italian and German-Austrian culture meet. A bottle that to me could actually age for a couple years, I'd pair this with some shrimp fried rice or grilled thai seafood.
