Staff Pick Notes

Franz Strohmeier is an intentionally respected master of natural winemaking. Haling from Austria, specifically Steiermark the part of Styria, known as the “Green Heart” of Austria. Franz does not certify with any biodynamic organization, but his practices align perfectly with what we all know as biodynamic winemaking. This naturally fermented sparkling wine, known locally as 'Schilcher' is a specialty of the region and frequently paired with fried chicken. It is made from an indigenous red grape Blauer Wildbacher with a dark skin and vibrant acidity. While all the fermentation on this wine is naturally induced, this is a clean and well composed wine. The bubbles are fine and quite consistent. Elegant wild strawberry notes are balance with a raspberry, black cherry toned acidity.
