Staff Pick Notes

Pour ma gueule is a slangy reference to the wine a winemaker sets aside for family and friends, and Clos des Fous, the team behind Pour ma Gueule Pinot Noir and other sustainable, terroir-driven, minimal intervention wines, is all about friends and family. Clos des Fous was founded in 2008 by four friends, Pedro Parra, François Massoc, Paco Leyton and Albert Cussen, who wanted to show the wine world that not all Chilean wines are industrially made. Their focus is on terroir (Pedro has a PhD for his work with terroir around the world), with minimal intervention in the vineyard and in the winery. The Pinot Noir is light, fresh, vibrant, savory, spiced, balanced and delicious. Pour ma gueule literally translates to "for my face", which, yes please, my face would like this wine.

Cabernet Sauvignons from Chile are just as crowd-pleasing as the Carmenères, and keep an eye out for velvety,...
