Staff Pick Notes

California Chardonnay isn't always my vibe. When they're too creamy, buttery, and manipulated they can be overwhelming for my Old World-loving palate. This Chardonnay has aromas of zingy ginger, juicy peaches, and honeysuckle in the middle of a summer heat wave. Some of the traditional creaminess still lingers, but the beautiful balance between roundness and acidity is exquisite. Made by Luke Bass and the other peeps at Porter-Bass Vineyard & Winery with biodynamic methods, this is a nice gateway into Chardonnay for the millennial hipster winos who have been told that Cali Chards are only for the Housewives of Orange County or wanna-bes, like them.
