Item # 37725 750mL

A delicious white wine that's full of personality. This comes from the Cagliero family's vineyards in the north of the Langhe. The vineyards are planted on steep slopes at a high elevation. This contributes to the lively, fresh appeal of this unoaked white wine. Rabel is dialect for the joyful noise made amongst friends.

Glossary

Piedmont

The most famous grape in Piedmont is the noble Nebbiolo, which makes the long-lived Barolo and Barbaresco. There are plenty of Nebbiolo-based wines that are quite enjoyable in their youth, however, often produced in smaller, lesser-known regions such as Ghemme or Gattinara. Favorita

A lesser-known Piedmontese white grape, recently found to be genetically identical to Liguria's Vermentino variety. It produces fine white wines with a firm grounding of minerals.

Arneis

A white grape variety cultivated almost exclusively in Piedmont. Compared to most wine grapes it has a low acid content, and it was once used to soften the mightily tannic red Nebbiolo. It is occasionally called "Barolo Bianco" by acolytes. Unlike red Barolos, however, wines made from the Arneis grape nowadays are usually meant to be consumed while quite young. They are typically dry and exquisitely perfumed.
