Redbreast 12 Yr. Irish Whiskey

This delightful dram is brought to us today by Middleton Distilleries. But let us think for a moment on the heritage of this bottle and what makes this whiskey so very satisfying to sip. Dating back to the late 1800s this blending of Single Pot Stilled whiskey was possible thanks to W&A Gilbey, a spirits merchant in London. Gilbey himself was an avid birdwatcher, thus Redbreast. By the turn of the century Gilbey had joined forces with John Jameson & Son distillery on Bow Street in Dublin as a key supplier of sherry and port casks from their wine importing. Therein lies the heart of Redbreast, artfully distilled spirit matured in Ex-Bourbon barrels and more importantly Oloroso sherry casks, delivering weight and prestige. A complex bouquet of dried apricot and fig, clove spice, and toasted cedar. Redbreast is a quintessential Irish spirit.
