Oh Aquavit, how I love thee. So under appreciated & underrated yet so complex & useful at the same time. It's not just for Scandinavians anymore. Sure it's great to shoot after a drinking song & a moral imperative for any Smorgasbord. But, for us obsessed mixologists it's our secret weapon for adding depth & roundness to a myriad of concoctions. e.g. Try it in a tiki drink. It's that extra special something in the back of all that fruity goodness that makes people go Mmm! Krogstad is my absolute favorite, a must have for any home bar. Try this one: Slap 'N' Pickle, 3 cucumber wheels, 2oz K A, .75oz Lime Juice, .75oz simple syrup, 1tsp Grenadine, 2 dsh Celery Bitters, Muddle cucumber in a shaker, Add other ingred. and shake over , then double strain into a double rocks glass over 1 large cube, Garnish with a cucumber spear.
