Tasting Notes

The second of as many exclusive single casks hand-selected by us has finally arrived direct from the distillery. After 19 years in a single Oloroso Sherry butt, the spirit has retained a healthy natural strength of 55.7% ABV and the deep mahogany color foreshadows the intense aromas and flavors that await the lucky imbiber. The first aromas are surprisingly citrus-forward, while a second and third wave unleashe dried prunes, honey-coated raisins, candied watermelon, cedar wood, and dried tobacco. The entry on the palate is like liquid silk, slightly oily and full of flavors including cherry syrup, marzipan, dark chocolate, black pepper, and preserved orange peel. This is a magnificent, one-off limited edition found exclusively at Astor and not to be missed.
