What we've all been waiting for; a new whisky from Suntory, at a great price that will hopefully stay in stock! Make no mistake, Suntory deserves all of the attention they are getting as pioneers of Japanese Whisky, one of the hottest spirit categories in the world. The explosion of excitement has, predictably so, depleted stocks and put many beloved whiskies on strict allocations. Toki is, hopefully, the remedy for now. The blend plays off of a primary marriage of American Oak aged Hakushu single malts and heavy-type grain whisky from the firms Chita distillery. Filling it out are carefully selected single malts from the Yamazaki Distillery aged in both American and Spanish oak. As a result the whisky is rich and harmonious, oozing with character seemingly effortlessly. Notes include green apple, white peach, vanilla custard, toasted cereal and wood spice. Very fun to drink on its own, this mouth-watering whisky is especially nice in a highball.
