Truly an interesting marriage of blood orange liqueur and amaro. Made from the local Sicilian variety of blood orange called Torocco growing on the hillsides of Mount Etna, Amara is simply delicious! It's beautiful blood orange notes persist on the palate for as long as you choose to enjoy them. While the baking spices, herbs and slight bitterness allow it to gracefully crossover into the amaro category. Think of this as a more feminine and elegant amaro. Try inserting it in to your next white negroni or in an Italian "Margherita" riff substituting Amara instead of triple sec. It's also a perfect after dinner drink, neat or on the rocks.
