Staff Pick Notes

What a find!!! Our buyers really found a winner this time. Chono represents the coming-of-age of Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile. This wine is from the Maipo Valley, with its hot days, cool nights, and sandy soils. It has a beautiful nose and palate of fresh red and blackberries. The texture is smooth with soft tannins and the finish is spicy. I could just sip this by itself, but the real beauty of it comes out when I have it with my favorite beef dishes. At this price, it's worthy of buying a case or two to ration over the next 12 months until the next vintage becomes available. Think about using it for your next party, be it a wedding, engagement, or graduation.

Cabernet Sauvignon

The result of an illicit affair a hundred-odd years ago between Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon today enjoys more worldwide popularity than both of its parents combined. It is the principal grape of Bordeaux, and as such has rightly earned its place among the greatest and most long-lived wines of the Old World; of course, it is also the most heralded grape of California, positioning it at the forefront of the New World wine scene as well. Today, Cabernet Sauvignon has a...
