Staff Pick Notes

The Warenghem distillery has been around for almost 120 years. They have made spirits and liqueurs. Since 1988 Armorik has been their single malt venture with the likes of Jim Swan consulting, making this a rising star of the whisky world. As one of the best Sauterne cask aged whiskies I ask myself why.... I think it is the quality of the spirit and the fact that the shorter stills retain more aldehydes and congeners. This gives more of a backbone for the cask influence to work with. Spicy, sweet maltiness, dried stone fruit, and honeyed aromas just scratch the surface of what's in store for you with this single barrel. 100% aged in ex-Sauternes cask, this is quite rare and, needless to say, a unique creation.
