Saralee McClellan Kunde first grafted the vines for this vineyard in 2011 in the Russian River. Today, her daughter owns the site which makes this iconic white wine that is aged for 3 years before release. Bright, fresh, complex on the palate and reminiscent of an aged Riesling. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in neutral barrel and tank before bottling.

I've met William Allen two times: The 1st was at the RAW WINE festival in Brooklyn where he sat in a sun-drenched room pouring his liquid treasures. The 2nd time was in his home in Sonoma California. Any-who, William Allen is crazy, eccentric, passionate. I want to avoid using the phrase 'mad scientist' but I cannot. His wines are all new California style—reflecting central France more than Napa. This beautiful Grenache Blanc tastes like clean, juicy yellow plums. It smells lightly floral, like summer shade on hot afternoons. Grenache

The Grenache grape (a.k.a. Grenache Noir) produces relatively pale, fruity red wines that often stop just short of sweetness. Grenache is familiar to most wine drinkers as an ingredient in the blends of the Rhône and Languedoc-Roussillon, where it can add charm to varieties that are a little rougher around the edges.
