Mulderbosch "Faithful Hound" Red Blend - 2020

Item # 72006 750mL

This is a Bordeaux-style blend that sneaks in a few notes of licorice among the juicy red berry flavors. Full-bodied and rich, there’s a presence of spice as well, with medium tannins on the finish.

Staff Pick Notes

One of my favorite wine destinations is South Africa! When I’m looking for a Bordeaux blend (grapes hailing from Bordeaux, France) I often find myself looking towards Stellenbosch. The “Faithful Hound” in particular is well made and a great value! With Richard Kershaw taking over the helm from Jim Dobrovic (He established Mulderbosch as the “most celebrated Sauvignon Blanc in South Africa” according to John Platter!) Keith has many years working with Jim and is a serious talent himself. The proof is in the pudding or in this case the wine! A lot of care is taken to produce their wines. Hand picked grapes ensure the highest quality, and ripeness. Expert vineyard management adds up along with this wine making team to give us all what we want in our glass!

Pairing Advice

This wine pairs well with a complex, caramel cheese such as a Boerenkaas Gouda from Holland, available online at Murray’s Cheese.

Today, Cabernet Sauvignon has a...
