Evelyne DePontbriand took over Domaine du Closel from her parents in 2001. She’s led the transition to certified organic and served as the president of the Savennières AOC. With organic practice in the vineyard and a decidedly hands-off approach in the cellar, Evelyne lets the terrior and the Chenin Blanc speak for themselves. This vintage did not ferment fully dry, and is a bit like a Vouvray in temperament, with crisp acidity, honeysuckle, and orchard fruit, with a beautiful kiss of sweetness.
