Collio Goriziano "Brazan", I Clivi - 2019

Item # 14022 750mL

100% Friulano. 80-year-old vines from the Brazan vineyard of Brazzano di Cormons, in the Gorizia province. Marl and sandstone. Hand-harvested and gently pressed. Fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel for 18 months, which steers the wine’s aromatic expression from primary, varietal-related aromas to a deeper, more terroir-driven character.

Staff Pick Notes

This wine is mostly Tocai Friulano, with a touch of Malvasia Istriana. The producers chose these indigenous grapes to search for the best expression of the terroir. It's a full body white wine with flavors of peach, apricot, flowers and grapefruit and a creamy mouth feel. At the first sip it's fresh and joyful. At the second you will notice more minerality and yeasty notes. A really fun wine to drink and to be paired with seasoned cheeses and cold cuts.
