This bitter is made with a grape base of Grignolino from Piedmont. The color is deep cherry, as opposed to the typical chocolate color of most bitters. The resulting bitter is much more fruit-driven. Full of cherries and quinine. This can be enjoyed straight or, try it with ice and an orange rind as garnish.

Mauro Vergano, the creator of this bitter is an artisanal producer. Production is very small. Competitors like Aperol and Campari sell millions of bottles a year. He produces a small amount of them. He is the son of a pharmacist and a nephew of a winemaker. This kind of aperitif is made with wine, sugar and ingredients like botanicals and herbs. This Americano combines gentian with wormwood, citrus and orange peel. Grignolino is used: it's a low tannin and medium body grape and the result id incredible...smooth and fruity with some earthy root finish, I would enjoy it with some ice, a splash of soda and a sliced orange.
