Vouvray "Tuffeau," Thierry - 2021

Item # 25429 750mL

The fruit-filled bouquet of this Chenin Blanc gives aromas of quince and apricot that are laced with notes of almond and acacia flowers. Texturally balanced, this off-dry wine finishes with a juicy crispness that demands you reach for another glass... or a piece of cheese. Pair with buttery pasta, rich chicken and fish, or light fruit desserts.

Staff Pick Notes

I had this wine on a warm summer night. A great experience: It delivered what I was expecting plus more. I tasted apricot yellow apple and honey and I felt a pleasant note of almonds at the end caused by lees contact and, of course flower bouquet notes typical of Chenin Blanc. What I noticed is that this wine was slightly off dry, in a very pleasant way. I felt this very gentle sweetness at the end of the finish and it made me want to have another sip and then, another glass! Very affordable, I consider this wine an amazing value: It delivers flavor and concentration and it can be a great partner to different dishes such as chicken, fish or even not too sweet desserts.

Loire

There’s a lot to remember when it comes to the Loire. These days, one of the most exciting stories is in South Africa, where newly adopted winemaking technologies have helped a dedicated group of producers to bring the country's dry...
