Tasting Notes

The elegance of this Nebbiolo-based wine is apparent with its layers of lithe, dusty tannins. Complex, with knitted flavors of dark berries, tar, and dried rose petals. Decant alongside a feast of short ribs, lamb shanks, or oxtail in earthy, gamey sauces. A natural for wild trumpet mushrooms. The grapes for this cuvée are sourced from the “Chioso dei Pomi” vineyard in the heart of Ghemme. The Rovellotti family traces its roots in Ghemme to the latter stages of the 15th Century.
