Wine made from grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides in the vineyard.
Chris Brocway works with sustainably grown 130 year old Carignan from the Alexander Valley to produce this fresh and juicy wine. Undergoing carbonic maceration, this Carignan is vivid, with soft red fruits and herbaceous flavors. A hint of spices and earth linger on the palate. Great match for steak frites or bison burger.
Talk about mixing things up! Carignan is typically used as a mixing grape in the Rhone and south of France but on its own it can produce some VERY interesting wines! To get an idea of what this wine is like think: Strawberry, cranberry, white pepper, blackberry, raspberry, moist tree bark, moss, and forest floor. This wine just screams for hearty dishes but is a dream on its own!

For years, this naturally high-yielding grape suffered from overproduction, but New World winemakers have lately taken up...
Accounting for over 90% of the vine plantings in Jerez, this relatively neutral grape provides the ideal “blank canvas” for the creation of fabulously complex Sherries (much like the Ugni Blanc grape does in Cognac).
Cyrus Alexander, for whom the Alexander Valley is named, planted the region's first vineyard in 1846. Situated at the top of Sonoma County, with about 15,000 acres of highly-prized vineyards, today’s Alexander Valley encompasses a variety of microclimates, supporting a wide-range of grape varieties. While Cabernet Sauvignon reigns supreme on the gravelly terrain of the valley floor, the region...
