Paul Beau Lignee de Samuel Cognac

Item # 29937 750mL

A deep, amber color begins to tell the almost unbelievable story of this very old spirit. This is a special bottling from one of the most important addresses in Cognac. This is the first time this is reaching the United States. Sixty bottles were brought in exclusively for us. A blend of the 1930 and 1950 vintages, this is a fully developed rancio, with notes showing worn leather, hazelnuts, almond pastries, dried figs, quince paste, stewed prunes, and preserved yellow peach. The complexity is endless.

Staff Pick Notes

Maison Paul Beau is one of the oldest artisanal cognac distillers in the world – hailing from Segonzac, in the heart of Grande Champagne region. It is a rancio style blend of distillates from 1930 and 1950. Very rarely do I get to drink drink something older than yourself and it was worth every penny. This historic house has produced a cognac that truly defies words - evolving in my glass so much over the course of an hour that a few descriptive terms would not be enough. Few of them are a deep buttery palate with bitter orange, leather, and roasted nuts. It has an exceptionally long, rich and creamy finish. I could go on and on! Only 60 bottles of this expression were imported into the United States. Very Rare!
