Pierre Moncuit-Delos, Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, Brut - NV

Item # 31753 750mL

An intense Champagne that shows the chalky soils of Mesnil beautifully. Aromas of citrus with a chalky, intense finish. A very focused, precise style that is always made from a single vintage. Today, this 15 ha domaine is run by a sister and brother, Nicole and Yves Pierre Moncuit.

Staff Pick Notes

I opened the Pierre Moncuit after watching the last of my teams get eliminated from the World Cup. On the couch with my Dutch roommate, I wept and drank this tasty grower-producer wine with pita chips and fresh hummus. All things considered, Pierre makes a good sorrow bubbly. Exceptionally tart, with a green apple skin and brioche palate, the minerality is especially refreshing after crying over Japan, Korea, the US, and the Netherlands. The zippy texture is especially pleasant with Mediterranean food, especially eggplant and chickpea dishes. A good bubbly to share with friends, in victory or defeat. Prost!

It is a flexible, eager-to-please grape, responding well to just about anything a winemaker...
