An inexpensive bottle of white wine for the discerning palate is much harder to find than an equivalent red. For those who find themselves in this struggle, I hope you've given Muscadet a try. Touted as the ideal match for oysters, Muscadet is also the ideal match for any white wine drinker who enjoys high-acid, food-friendly grapes like Albariño and Sauvignon Blanc. L'Aujardière's version has the classic high-acid and slightly-round body that characterizes wines from this grape, with balanced white fruit flavors that remind me of fresh pears. You don't even need oysters. I once paired this with cheese stuffed poblanos and red salsa. Whenever I need a crisp, easy white, I don't hesitate to pick up this bottle.
