Fans of Hitachino Nest White Ale, take note. This ale has been distilled one time then matured in an oak barrel along with coriander, hops, and orange peel for one month. Next, they add more ale to this to be distilled again and then age it in oak barrels for six months. The taste should remind you of a Genever with the fantastic notes the ale brings to the party with a touch of sweetness on the finish.

It's a whiskey. It's a gin. It's an eau de vie. What is it? Well, it's all three....kind of. Kiuchi No Shizuku is distilled from a beer that you may have tried, Hitachino Nest White Ale. Any whiskey you have ever tried is distilled from some sort of beer, though only a miniscule number are made from drinkable beers that are already on the market. After distillation, this spirit is infused with orange peel and cardamom, like a gin. Further barrel aging gives this exotic liquid whiskey-like vanilla tones and wood spice. On the palate however, it drinks like an eau de vie. Whatever it is, it's delicious.
