Bitter is better! Contratto Aperitif is a delicious bittersweet liqueur from this esteemed producer of spirits and Italian sparkling wines. Based on a recipe pre-dating World War II, the color here is from natural vegetable extracts. Drier than Aperol, this spirits shines in a spritz, with soda, or in any cocktail calling for Campari. The long list of ingredients, from Aloe to Rhubarb to Wormwood results in a refined spirit that is sure to earn a spot in your bar. (If you can keep it around that long. I drank my first bottle in a week.)
