Tasting Notes

From the highlands of Austria comes this single variety mead. Made only from honey of linden blossoms, often called lime trees in eastern Europe. Distinct lime aromas blend with white flowers and subtle honeycomb. This mead is nicely balanced and not overly sweet.

This 'single varietal' mead was made from the honey of bees who pollinated solely from Austrian Limetree (Linden) Blossom. Yes, of course it smells like honey, but white flowers, delicate citrus, freshly cut grass and hay make for a refreshingly earthy bouquet. And while sweet, this mead is by no means cloying. It has enough finesse to kick off your party as an aperitif, but can also compliment roasted meats, spiced fruit and other autumnal fare. Or Renaissance fare. OK, I had to.
