A fine, Italian mead that is a treat for dessert.The honey spends two years aging in oak barrels giving it flavors of coconut oil and biscotti. Notes of peppercorn and tannic, coffee finish are a delicious match with an after-dinner cheese course.

Mead: Not just for your Game of Thrones party! Mead is the world's oldest alcoholic beverage and, is, in fact, responsible for the phrase "honeymoon." In the past, newlywed couples were given enough mead on their wedding day to last a month. Although mead is an ancient drink, that doesn't mean it shouldn't appeal to a modern palate. This particular mead is moderately sweet with notes of rich coffee and punctuated by a tannic finish. This is a lovely pairing for milk and dark chocolate alike, but would also serve as an excellent accompaniment to parmesan reggiano drizled with wildflower honey.
