Staff Pick Notes

Classic Nebbiolo from a great producer. Langhe Nebbiolo are the same grape and same general region as Barolo and Barbaresco but usually drank young and fresh with a much more approachable price. Some times the Langhe are grapes from younger vines or areas just outside the the more exhalted vineyards. If you tasted this along side Barale's 2012 Barbaresco you would see that the wines have the same lineage but are starkly different. The Barbaresco is big, chewy and is starting to take on some of the characteristics of aged wine. While this Langhe is lean, clean and with clear cherry fruit that is never jammy. While not a overly tannic wine, the Langhe Nebbiolo is very firm and dry on the palete. Balanced with depth and nice acidity, enjoy with or without food.

The most famous grape in Piedmont is the noble Nebbiolo, which makes the long-lived Barolo and Barbaresco.
