Staff Pick Notes

There are plenty of white wines that improve with age. While it’s true that Riesling belongs in this group, it is not a wine strictly for older consumption. There are qualities of young Riesling that are invigorating and irreplaceable. This Riesling shows taut fruit on a sleek gossamer palate. The lively acid draws out tart fruit, snappy flora, and dry minerals. These tense characteristics collide and cascade to a soft creamy finish. At 10.5% alcohol this is lip-smacking stuff. Old wine is tempered by time. Though there is something insatiable about the unbridled energy of youth.
