Clear rums from Venezuela are something of a misnomer as technically by law, all rums from this country must be aged to earn the title. Faced with this challenge, the team at Diplomatico have gone above and beyond by delivering a clear rum that delivers more flavor than many dark versions. Using a combination of light and heavy rums distilled on pot stills the spirits are aged for two to six years before being filtered through charcoal. Notes include bright citrus fruits, vanilla bean, jasmine tea, fresh honey white pepper and a round, supple ultra soft texture.

Glossary

Blanco

White tequila, an official type (tipo) for tequila bottled fresh from the still, or allowed to rest in stainless steel tanks for up to sixty days before bottling. It is never aged in wooden barrels. Also known as plata, plato, and silver tequila. Usually the most robust, strong-flavoured of the tequila types.
