Grappa has a reputation for being rocket fuel. Technically a pomace brandy, Grappa is a distillate from grapes that have been already pressed to make wine. In the old days, stems, skins and seeds would all be thrown into the still and volatile flavors would result. These days, as the winemaking process has become more refined, so have many of the Grappas on the market. This example is distilled from the exceptionally rare Moscato di Scanzo varietal.
