Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin

Item # 38059 1L

Coveted around the globe, Monkey 47 by Black Forest Distillers is one of the best gins available in the world right now. The juniper keeps coming through despite the complex array of botanicals. At times piney and complementing the spicy side of the spirit and at other times very floral proving the perfect match to the more delicate, berry-driven qualities.

Staff Pick Notes

I've been on a martini kick lately, and when I want something a little different, something elevated and special I turn to Monkey 47. It's a blend of 47 botanicals, including acacia flowers, lingonberries, spruce shoots from the Black forest to name a few.The recipe was inspired by Monty Collins, a British airman, bon-vivant and animal lover who helped save a monkey named Max at the Berlin zoo after the war. Collins later moved to the Black Forest, opened an inn called the Wild Monkey and began distilling gin. Inspired by his story, Alex Stein, Monkey 47's founder, set out to create a gin in his honor. It's one of the most complex gins I've ever had, with different aromas and flavors weaving in and out as you sip. It leads with pine, floral and citrus notes, followed by a hint of forest floor and herbs. It's one fine Monkey Martini.
