Ridge Vineyards is one of California's most storied estates. While Ridge can trace its history back to the late 1800s, the first vintage of the Geyserville Zinfandel was in 1966. From its inception this cuvée was designed to highlight the unique climate, gravelly soils, and varietal diversity of the region. All harvesting and sorting is done in the fields by hand. Fermentation starts with native yeast and varietals are vinified individually to maximize color, flavor, and desirable tannin. The Geyserville Zinfandel is rich in dark purple fruit note, like plum and black cherry, youthful tannin is perfectly leveled by bright acidity. A wonderful wine selection ton for a roast with root vegetables. This is a wine primed for evolution, fit for aging in bottle over the next 12 to 15 years.
