The midterms are over and the country is still divided. A bitter battle wages on over who will foot the bill for Trump's wall. The team behind Empirical Spirits are angry (aren't we all?) Politics aside, this new, highly anticipated release may be as divisive as Trump himself. It's not for everybody. A spirit made with koji and pilsner malt with naked and pearled barley is already off the beaten path. Add in habanero vinegar and you've got something wild, foreign and enigmatic. The nose is vegetal, filled with green pepper, while the palate is light, tangy and a little salty, with none of the habanero heat. The longer it lingers, the funkier it gets. But not in an unpleasant way, unlike someone I know...
