A vibrant and dense ruby color in the glass. The nose shows notes of iron shavings and graphite with blackcurrant. Plush and finely textured on the palate. There is a touch of toasted oak present when first opened that graciously recedes to the background after a bit of air. Named for the Bunkhouse was originally built for ranch hands and cowboys and is still in use today by guests of Hearst Ranch.

On the nose, the 2020 Bunkhouse presents seriously juicy Paso Robles fruit juxtaposed with notes of dark-roasted coffee and baking chocolate. A sumptuous palate follows with limestone inspired minerality over generous amounts of dark fruit. Full bodied and rich thanks to an inspired blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon with measured splashes of Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc to lend character, this vintage will continue to evolve over the next ten years.
