Rezpiral Leonardo Lumbre Mezcal

Maybe I shouldn't have, but I did it anyway. Perhaps it was improvisation or simply laziness...I certainly did not have a bevy of exotic cocktail ingredients at my disposal (even though I work at Astor) and I really just wanted an easy, refreshing cocktail... All the same, I added grapefruit Jarritos to my Leonardo Rezpiral. The result? Instant deliciousness! The only thing I might have added is a dash of citrus bitters, but otherwise I think it was a pretty happy accident. I know I should extol the unique virtues of this artisanal agave distillate, and you may be lamenting the fact that I adulterated it, but sometimes a lady needs a drink! I say support the craft of traditional mezcaleros using local, wild and sometimes endangered agave species however you best see fit.
