Cabernet Franc is widely cultivated in the Loire Valley. Anjou and Saumur produce the finest expression. Fresh and crisp wines are created in this area. This wine is a perfect expression of these qualities: red fruit flavors followed by herbaceous notes and well-balanced tannins. A small amount of Grolleau is added, which is typical in the Loire, despite the grape being relatively unknown. It imparts the wine with dark berry notes and helps make the herbaceous notes typical in Cab Franc more approachable. Another good quality of this wine is the long earthy finish. I would pair this Cab Fanc with white meat dishes or soft cheeses!
